Artist: JIANG SUI WU
Born in 1978, Jiang is a native of Shaodong County in Hunan province. Jiang came from a traditional and well educated family. He had a special interest in painting while he was a child.
Jiang possesses unusual skill in oil painting as well as Chinese ink wash. When he grew up, Jiang continued to search for inspiration and more focused on contemporary art.
“Jiang is a poet, a thinker and an artist. He puts his thought and wits in his paintings like a poem. He is aggressive and adventurous in expressing himself in the painting with his own language,” said art critics.
Between 2005 and 2015, Jiang had participated in 13 major exhibitions with outstanding creations. In March 2016, he held a solo show in Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan province. The show displayed his selected works of art in the past decade. This is an important milestone for Jiang. The show titled “I am here – non abstract” demonstrated Jiang’s latest ‘abstract collections’ - in his own idiom.
