Artist: LIANG ZHENG
Brought up in a family with a long tradition of art culture, Liang studied art and oil painting at the Guangxi Art Academy. After graduation, he continued his art study and research at the Guangzhou Art Academy and obtained a Master Degree in Oil Painting.
Other than oil painting, Liang is also specialized in contemporary Chinese ink wash painting. Through the years, Liang had participated in many art shows in China, including three solo exhibitions in 2001, 2009 and 2015.
All the time, Liang has been searching for new themes for his work of art. It was in 2007, he visited a hundred of years old Hakka village in Meizhou, Guangdong province that gave him the inspiration. Liang was fascinated by the scenery, the very special and rare Hakka architecture, and the culture of the local residents.
In the following three years, Liang created 103 paintings themed with the sceneries of Meizhou. He named the collection – “Illusion and Imagination”. The collection is available in Chinese ink wash on paper and oil on canvas. Liang’s works of art were exhibited in Hong Kong in October 2015.
