Lu was born in 1969 in Xi’an. He was graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Xi’an Art Academy in 1991. Currently, Lu is teaching oil painting at the Xi’an Art Academy.
He is specialized in impressionism oil painting. Lu’s work of art changes with time. In the early days, Lu was obsessed by China’s economic reform and his paintings were predominantly themed on industrial equipment, factories and machineries which echo China’s modernization in the 90s. Today, Lu’s paintings are more like fairy tales with a touch of post modernism and abstract.
“Door God” – a collection of oil paintings by Lu in 2014 signifies the evolution of the country from traditional Chinese society to an open and international community is by no means, the beginning of the end of the long Chinese culture and heritage which can be traced back to five thousand years ago.
