Zhang was born in 1981 in Fujian province. He studied art in Sichuan Art Institute and was graduated in 2002. Since then, Zhang moved to Beijing and actively engaged in art creation.

     Between 2002 and 2015, Zhang's works of art were displayed in more than 40 art shows and exhibitions in major cities in the country, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Hong Kong. Zhang's artwork also appeared in overseas countries including Holland's Art Expo 2006 and exhibitions in Switzerland, Germany and Australia. In 2015, Zhang had his solo exhibition at the Song Zhuang Art Gallery, Beijing, which marks an important milestone in his career.

     Zhang paints on paper and canvas. Fine lines and bold colors are his trade marks. Zhang used to tell people, "In my paintings, lines are my language, colors are my thought. Nothing more, nothing less."
