Luu was born in 1966 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province. He was graduated from the Photography Department of the Beijing Movie Academy in 1994. Lu has not taken any formal training in painting at all.
     “It was many years ago, suddenly I had an impulse to paint, so I just start to paint, oil painting, Chinese ink wash, water color, I just love to paint,” said Luu.
     Luu is a professional artist and currently residing in Song Zhuang, Beijing. It was in 1996, Luu made his debut at a contemporary art show in Shanghai. In the following years, Luu was very much indulged in art creation.
     Other than painting, photography and movie making, he is also a sculptor. It was in 2009, Luu’s creation of “The Banquet” (oil on canvas) which hit the headlines in the art world.
     Later on, Luu created a large-scale bronze sculpture of the “The Banquet” which gained universal applauds. It was in 2015, “The Banquet” – the sculpture by Luu was invited to be displayed in an international art event in Germany. Finally, “The Banquet” was being voted by the public as the best work of art at the event.
     Luu is a born artist.
